Myrtus Festival Orchestra, conducted by Jonatan Rives, opens the season with Antonio Cánovas as soloist in Ibert’s Concertino da camera, before turning to two landmarks of the symphonic repertoire: Mozart’s Haffner Symphony and Beethoven’s Eroica. Cánovas’s participation also brings a special connection with Águilas, linking the opening concert directly to the musical life of the town.
The programme is, in many ways, a statement of intent. A Tempo Águilas sets out from the beginning as an artistically ambitious project, one that embraces the great repertoire while remaining closely connected to its surroundings. That dialogue between artistic excellence and local musical life is not incidental: it is one of the principles on which the season is built.
